Legal Companies Alabama hosts yearly Justice, Fairness & Hope Awards

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The late Rep. John Lewis carries on to be regarded for his life time motivation to social justice. On Tuesday, Legal Services Alabama held a virtual celebration honoring transform-makers who are making a difference.

Lawful Products and services Alabama, or LSA, held its once-a-year Justice, Fairness & Hope Awards. Founded in 2020 by LSA, the John Lewis Hope Award was bestowed on the late congressman for his life span commitment to social justice. Planet-renowned civil legal rights attorney Fred Grey is the recipient of the 2022 John Lewis Hope Award.

“He is an icon of the civil legal rights movement, and labored with Congressman Lewis heading back again those lots of yrs, and his complete occupation has been focused on hope, and for that reason it is our belief that he exemplified the very best of John Lewis, and we wanted to identify him for all of his contributions in Alabama in excess of the decades,” claimed Dude Lescault, executive director Authorized Solutions Alabama.

All of the income lifted goes to the John Lewis Fellowship, which was launched by LSA in 2019. This fellowship features work prospects to current law graduates with a single mission and reason.

Lescault mentioned the John Lewis Fellowship is “to recruit lawyers contemporary out of law university who would go after a social justice job with Lawful Service of Alabama and work on difficulties that have an impact on our clientele as it relates to inequities in the legislation for housing, education and learning and overall health.”

LaVeeda Fight gained the Tommy Wells Justice Award, and the Pro Bono Fairness Award went to John Brinkley.
